Ph\u1ea7n n\u1ed9i dung ti\u1ebfng Anh<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1.&nbsp; SAKUL\u0152 THER\u00a2<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Sakul\u01ce Ther\u012b is mentioned by the name of B\u01cekula in the Commentary on the <strong>A~guttara Nik\u01ceya <\/strong>in the recorded version of the Sixth Council, whereas in the Sri La~k\u01ce version, the name is mentioned as Sakul\u01ce. In the Commentary on <strong>Ther\u012bg\u01ceth\u01ce <\/strong>of the Sixth Council version, the name also appeared as Sakul\u01ce. Hence we have opted for the name Sakul\u01ce, and based our narration on the Commentary on <strong>Ther\u012b- get he <\/strong>which gives a more extensive coverage.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">(a)&nbsp;&nbsp; Her Past Aspiration<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The future Sakul\u01ce Ther\u012b was reborn into the family of King \u0152nanda of Ha\u00d1s\u01cevat\u012b, during the time of Buddha Padumuttara. She was the half sister of Buddha Padumuttara and was named Princess Nand\u01ce. When she had come of age, she attended the Buddha&#8217;s sermon. She saw a <em>bhikkhun\u012b <\/em>being named by the Buddha as the foremost <em>bhikkhun\u012b <\/em>in the endowment of supernormal power of Deva Eye (characterized by a knowledge of past existences). She then had a strong desire to become one like that <em>bhikkhun\u012b <\/em>with supernormal power of Deva Eye and accordingly she made an extra-ordinary offering and made her aspiration before Buddha Padumuttara. Buddha Padumuttara prophesied that her aspiration would be fulfilled during the time of Buddha Gotama. (for details of this part of the story, read<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1406<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a><\/a>Sakul\u01ce Ther\u012b Ap\u01ced\u01cena.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Her Past Existence as A female Wandering Ascetic<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Princess Nand\u01ce engaged herself in doing many great deeds of merit throughout her life, and, after passing away from that existence, she was reborn in the deva realm. <a><\/a>Subsequently, she was reborn in the human or deva realm only. During Buddha Kassapa time, she was reborn into a brahmin family. She became a recluse and led a life of a secluded ascetic. After the passing away of Buddha Kassapa, His relics were enshrined in a great stupa. The ascetic, who was future Sakul\u01ce Ther\u012b, one day obtained some oil on her round for alms-oil. With that amount of oil she made an offering of lights throughout the night at the shrine where Buddha Kassapa\u2019s relics were enshrined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">(b)&nbsp;&nbsp; Becoming A Bhikkhun\u012b in Her Last Existence<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The wandering ascetic passed away and was reborn in T\u01cevati\u00d1sa Deva realm, as a deva <a><\/a>endowed with special deva faculty of vision. for the whole period of the interval between the two Buddhas, she fared in the deva realm only. During the time of Buddha Gotama, she was reborn into brahmin family in S\u01cevatthi, by the name of Sakul\u01ce. When she became of age, she attended a ceremony which celebrated the donations of the Jetavana monastery (by An\u01cethapi\u00d3\u010fika) to the Buddha where she listened to the Buddha&#8217;s discourse and she became a lay disciple of His. Later, she received a discourse from an <em>arahat <\/em>which kindled her emotional religious awakening and resulted in her becoming a <em>bhikkhun\u012b<\/em>. She strove diligently in the Noble Practice of Purity and soon attained arahatship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">(c)&nbsp;&nbsp; Sakul\u01ce Ther\u012b as The foremost Bhikkhun\u012b<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a><\/a>After attaining <em>arahatta-phala, <\/em>Sakul\u01ce Ther\u012b, as the result of her past aspiration, was specially devoted to the exercise of the supernormal power of the Deva Eye, and was an adept at it. On one occasion, when the Buddha was naming outstanding <em>bhikkhun\u012bs <\/em>at the Jetavana monastery, He declared:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201a<em>Bhikkhus<\/em>, among My <em>bhikkhun\u012b<\/em>-disciples who are proficient in the supernormal power of the Deva Eye, Sakul\u01ce Ther\u012b is the foremost (<em>etadagga<\/em>).\u201b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">II. Trong th\u1eddi \u0110\u1ee9c Ph\u1eadt Kassapa, c\u00f4 t\u00e1i sinh trong m\u1ed9t gia \u0111\u00ecnh B\u00e0 la m\u00f4n. C\u00f4 tr\u1edf th\u00e0nh m\u1ed9t ng\u01b0\u1eddi \u1ea9n d\u1eadt v\u00e0 s\u1ed1ng m\u1ed9t cu\u1ed9c s\u1ed1ng c\u1ee7a m\u1ed9t nh\u00e0 tu kh\u1ed5 h\u1ea1nh \u1ea9n d\u1eadt. Sau khi \u0110\u1ee9c Ph\u1eadt Kassapa vi\u00ean t\u1ecbch, x\u00e1 l\u1ee3i c\u1ee7a Ng\u00e0i \u0111\u01b0\u1ee3c t\u00f4n tr\u00ed trong m\u1ed9t b\u1ea3o th\u00e1p l\u1edbn. M\u1ed9t nh\u00e0 kh\u1ed5 h\u1ea1nh, t\u01b0\u01a1ng lai Sakul\u01ce Ther\u012b, m\u1ed9t ng\u00e0y n\u1ecd, l\u1ea5y \u0111\u01b0\u1ee3c m\u1ed9t \u00edt d\u1ea7u tr\u00ean v\u00f2ng c\u1ee7a m\u00ecnh \u0111\u1ec3 b\u1ed1 th\u00ed. V\u1edbi l\u01b0\u1ee3ng d\u1ea7u \u0111\u00f3, c\u00f4 \u1ea5y \u0111\u00e3 c\u00fang d\u01b0\u1eddng \u0111\u00e8n su\u1ed1t \u0111\u00eam t\u1ea1i \u0111i\u1ec7n th\u1edd n\u01a1i c\u1ea5t gi\u1eef x\u00e1 l\u1ee3i c\u1ee7a \u0110\u1ee9c Ph\u1eadt Kassapa.<br>(b) Tr\u1edf th\u00e0nh m\u1ed9t T\u1ef3 kh\u01b0u trong s\u1ef1 t\u1ed3n t\u1ea1i cu\u1ed1i c\u00f9ng c\u1ee7a c\u00f4 \u1ea5y<br>Ng\u01b0\u1eddi tu h\u00e0nh kh\u1ed5 h\u1ea1nh \u0111\u00e3 qua \u0111\u1eddi v\u00e0 t\u00e1i sinh trong c\u00f5i T\u01cevati\u00d1sa Deva, nh\u01b0 m\u1ed9t v\u1ecb th\u1ea7n \u0111\u01b0\u1ee3c ban cho kh\u1ea3 n\u0103ng th\u1ecb gi\u00e1c \u0111\u1eb7c bi\u1ec7t. Trong su\u1ed1t th\u1eddi gian c\u1ee7a kho\u1ea3ng th\u1eddi gian gi\u1eefa hai v\u1ecb Ph\u1eadt, c\u00f4 \u1ea5y ch\u1ec9 \u1edf trong c\u00f5i ti\u00ean n\u1eef. Trong th\u1eddi \u0110\u1ee9c Ph\u1eadt Gotama, b\u00e0 t\u00e1i sinh v\u00e0o m\u1ed9t gia \u0111\u00ecnh B\u00e0 la m\u00f4n \u1edf S\u01cevatthi, v\u1edbi t\u00ean l\u00e0 Sakul\u01ce. Khi l\u1edbn tu\u1ed5i, c\u00f4 tham d\u1ef1 m\u1ed9t bu\u1ed5i l\u1ec5 t\u1ed5 ch\u1ee9c l\u1ec5 quy\u00ean g\u00f3p c\u1ee7a tu vi\u1ec7n Jetavana (c\u1ee7a An\u01cethapi\u00d3\u010fika) cho \u0110\u1ee9c Ph\u1eadt, n\u01a1i c\u00f4 l\u1eafng nghe b\u00e0i gi\u1ea3ng c\u1ee7a \u0110\u1ee9c Ph\u1eadt v\u00e0 c\u00f4 tr\u1edf th\u00e0nh m\u1ed9t \u0111\u1ec7 t\u1eed t\u1ea1i gia c\u1ee7a Ng\u00e0i.
