Th\u00f4ng tin t\u1eeb cu\u1ed1n \u0110\u1ea1i Ph\u1eadt S\u1eed 6B ENG<\/h2>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading {\"level\":3} -->\n<h3>6.&nbsp; SURAMBA\u00ae\u00aeHA The Householder<\/h3>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:list -->\n<ul><li><strong>His Past Aspiration<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n<!-- \/wp:list -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The &nbsp;future &nbsp;S|ramba\u00d4\u00d4ha &nbsp;the &nbsp;householder &nbsp;was &nbsp;born &nbsp;into &nbsp;a &nbsp;worthy &nbsp;family &nbsp;in &nbsp;the &nbsp;city &nbsp;of Ha\u00d1s\u01cevat\u012b, during the time of Buddha Padumuttara. While listening to a sermon by the Buddha, he saw a lay disciple being named by the Buddha as the foremost lay disciple who had firm conviction in the Teaching. He aspired to that distinction, and, after making an extraordinary offering, he expressed his wish that at some future existence his aspiration would be fulfilled.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading {\"level\":3} -->\n<h3>(b)&nbsp;&nbsp; His Last Existence as S|ramba\u00d4\u00d4ha The Householder<\/h3>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The future S|ramba\u00d4\u00d4ha was reborn in the deva or human realms for a hundred thousand world-cycles before being reborn into a rich man&#8217;s family of S\u01cevatthi, during the time of<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>1442<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Buddha &nbsp;Gotama. &nbsp;His &nbsp;name &nbsp;was &nbsp;S|ramba\u00d4\u00d4ha. &nbsp;When &nbsp;he &nbsp;came &nbsp;of &nbsp;age, &nbsp;he &nbsp;married &nbsp;and became a regular lay supporter of ascetics who were outside the Buddha&#8217;s Teaching.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading {\"level\":3} -->\n<h3>S|ramba\u00d4\u00d4ha The Householder attained Stream-Entry Knowledge<\/h3>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Early one morning, the Buddha, in His routine review of the world for individuals who were &nbsp;ready &nbsp;for &nbsp;Enlightenment, &nbsp;saw &nbsp;the &nbsp;ripeness &nbsp;of &nbsp;the &nbsp;past &nbsp;merit &nbsp;of &nbsp;S|ramba\u00d4\u00d4ha &nbsp;the householder &nbsp;to &nbsp;gain &nbsp;<em>sot\u01cepatti<\/em>&#8211;<em>magga.<\/em><em> &nbsp;<\/em>So, &nbsp;He &nbsp;went &nbsp;to &nbsp;S|ramba\u00d4\u00d4ha&#8217;s &nbsp;house &nbsp;for &nbsp;alms-food. S|ramba\u00d4\u00d4ha &nbsp;thought&nbsp; to&nbsp; himself:&nbsp; \u201aSamana &nbsp;Gotama &nbsp;comes&nbsp; from &nbsp;a &nbsp;royal&nbsp; family &nbsp;and &nbsp;has earned a vast reputation in the world. Perhaps, it is only proper for me to welcome Him.\u201b Thinking thus, he went to the Buddha, made obeisance at His feet, took His alms-bowl, and conducted Him to a raised couch which was set aside for noble persons. He made offerings of food and after attending on Him, sat in a suitable place.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The Buddha preached a discourse, which suited the mental framework of S|ramba\u00d4\u00d4ha. At the end of which, he was established in <em>sot\u01cepatti-phala<\/em>. After bestowing S|ramba\u00d4\u00d4ha with Stream-Entry Knowledge, the Buddha returned to the monastery.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading {\"level\":3} -->\n<h3>M\u01cera tested The Conviction of S|ramba\u00d4\u00d4ha<\/h3>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Then &nbsp;M\u01cera &nbsp;thought: &nbsp;\u201aThis &nbsp;S|ramba\u00d4\u00d4ha &nbsp;the &nbsp;householder&nbsp; belongs&nbsp; to &nbsp;my &nbsp;fold &nbsp;(being &nbsp;a follower of the ascetics which are outside the Buddha&#8217;s Teaching). But the Buddha has visited his house today. Why? Has S|ramba\u00d4\u00d4ha become an <em>ariya <\/em>after hearing the Buddha&#8217;s discourse? Has he escaped from my domain of sensuality? I must find out.\u201b Then, being possessed of powers of impersonating anyone, he assumed the form of the Buddha completed with the thirty-two marks of the great man and in perfect Buddha-style of holding the alms-bowl and the robe. In that deceitful impersonation, he stood at the door of S|ramba\u00d4\u00d4ha the householder.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>S|ramba\u00d4\u00d4ha wondered why the Buddha visited a second time, when he was informed by his attendants. \u201aThe Buddha never comes without some good reason,\u201b he replied, and approached the impersonated Buddha in the belief that he was the real Buddha. After making obeisance to the impersonated Buddha, he stood in a suitable place, and asked:<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>\u201aVenerable Sir, the Bhagav\u01ce has just left this house after having a meal. For what purpose does the Bhagav\u01ce come again?\u201b<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The &nbsp;bogus &nbsp;Buddha(M\u01cera)&nbsp; &nbsp;said: &nbsp;\u201aLay&nbsp; &nbsp;supporter &nbsp;S|ramba\u00d4\u00d4ha,&nbsp; &nbsp;I&nbsp; &nbsp;made &nbsp;a &nbsp;slip &nbsp;in &nbsp;my discourse to you. I said that all of the aggregates are impermanent, woeful and insubstantial. But the five aggregates are not always of that nature. There are certain of the five aggregates that are permanent, stable and eternal.\u201b<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading {\"level\":3} -->\n<h3>The Steadfast Conviction of S|ramba\u00d4\u00d4ha The Householder<\/h3>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>S|ramba\u00d4\u00d4ha, a Stream-Enterer, was vexed by that statement. He pondered thus: \u201aThis is a statement of most serious import. The Buddha never makes a slip in His speech, for He never utters a word without proper consideration. They say that M\u01cera is the opponent of the Buddha. Surely this must be M\u01cera himself.\u201b Thinking correctly thus, he asked bluntly:<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>\u201aYou are M\u01cera, are you not?\u201b M\u01cera was shocked and shaken as if struck with an&nbsp; axe because it was a confrontation by an <em>ariya<\/em>. His disguise fell off and he admitted: \u201aYes, S|ramba\u00d4\u00d4ha, I am M\u01cera.\u201b<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>S|ramba\u00d4\u00d4ha &nbsp;rebuked: &nbsp;\u201aWicked &nbsp;M\u01cera, &nbsp;even &nbsp;a &nbsp;thousand &nbsp;of &nbsp;your &nbsp;kind &nbsp;will &nbsp;not &nbsp;be &nbsp;able &nbsp;to shake my conviction. Buddha Gotama, in His discourse has said: \u2018All conditioned things are impermanent.\u2019 And the Buddha&#8217;s discourse has led me to <em>sot\u01cepatti<\/em>&#8211;<em>magga<\/em>. Get out of here!\u201b He said sternly to M\u01cera, flipping his fingers.
