the squirrels&#8217; feeding place.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"f4\">At that time the venerable R\u0101hula<span class=\"f1\"><sup>[<a id=\"fn2\" href=\"#n2\">2<\/a>]<\/sup><\/span> was staying at Ambala\u1e6d\u1e6dhik\u0101.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"f4\">Then the Lord,<br\/>emerging from solitary meditation towards evening,<br\/>approached Ambala\u1e6d\u1e6dhik\u0101.<br\/>and the venerable R\u0101hula.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"f4\">Then the venerable R\u0101hula saw the Lord coming in the distance;<br\/>seeing him,<br\/>he made ready a seat<br\/>and water for (washing) the feet.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"f4\">The Lord sat down on the seat made ready;<br\/>as he was sitting down<br\/>he bathed his feet.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"f4\">And the venerable R\u0101hula,<br\/>having greeted the Lord,<br\/>sat down at a respectful distance.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"f4\">Then the Lord,<br\/>having put a little quantity of water<br\/>that was left over<br\/>into a water-vessel,<br\/>addressed the venerable R\u0101hula,<br\/>saying:<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"f4\">&#8220;Do you, R\u0101hula,<br\/>see this little quantity of water<br\/>that is left over<br\/>and that is put into the water-vessel?&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"f4\">&#8220;Yes, revered sir.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"f4\">&#8220;Even so, R\u0101hula,<br\/>little is the recluseship<br\/>of those who have no shame at intentional lying.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"f4\">Then the Lord,<br\/>having thrown away that little quantity battle-field,<br\/>and who, when going forth to battle,<br\/>uses his forelegs,<br\/>uses his hindlegs,<br\/>uses the forepart of his body,<br\/>uses the hindpart of his body,<br\/>uses his id=\"pg89\"><span class=\"f2 g\"><b>[89]<\/b><\/span><\/a> repeated reflection;<br\/>a deed is to be done with speech<br\/>(only) after repeated reflection<br\/>a deed is to be done with the
